Course description: The course is an introduction to the theoretical basis required to understand the future outcomes from the LHC experiment. We will begin with a discussion of the LHC and the experiments built around it. After a brief summary of the Standard Model, various possible scenarios for new physics will be discussed with particular emphasis on supersymmetry. Feyman diagrams will be used in a pragmatic way with emphasis on explicit computations. Supersymmetry will be introduced from scratch and its main consequences will be investigated.
